  • ELECTRICITY: A part of Georgia's modern integrated electrical transmission system, Gwinnett County has excellent ability to supply industrial demands. If demand exceeds 900kw, any supplier can step in and offer service.

NATURAL GAS: Majority of county is supplied by Atlanta Gas Light Co. Gas is available in industrial quantities on an interruptible basis. Lawrenceville and Buford have city-owned gas supplies.

  • The River Club Suwanee GA Golf:

The developer of the golf course at The River Club, is none other that the renowned Greg Norman. The River Club facility in Suwanee, Georgia features 7,182 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. This course will complement his course at Sugarloaf Country Club and will consist of an 18 hole course. Nine of the 18 holes will play along or across one of the beautiful lakes, and several holes will play alongside other fairways, thereby helping to create an intimate park-like feel. This will also shorten the distance between many of the greens and tees, thus making for a speedier and more enjoyable game. The membership plan for the River Club Golf Club will be comparable to the finer private clubs in Atlanta.

GREG NORMAN RETURNS TO PLAY THE RIVER CLUB

Suwanee, Ga. – Course designer and legendary Hall-of-Fame golfer Greg Norman returned to The River Club recently to play his second signature course in the Atlanta area (Sugarloaf Country Club was his first North American design). As Norman sliced his way through the challenging 18 holes with his son, Gregory, The River Club members followed the duo and took notes of how the designer played the course. Norman also took the opportunity to mingle with members at The Lodge, The River Club's new clubhouse.

    GWINNETT COUNTY PROPERTY TAX (EXAMPLE):

Mathematics of Property Tax Example (Gwinnett):

To determine the amount of your property taxes, several values are needed. These values are the Fair Market Value (FMV), Assessed Value (ASV), and the Millage Rate. The Millage Rate is defined as dollars per $1,000.00 of assessed value. For 2006, the Millage Rate for Gwinnett County has been set at $32.27 per $1000.00 or the decimal equivalent of .03227.

    Fair Market Value (F.M.V.) X 40% = Assessed Value

Assessed Value X Millage = Tax

Millage is usually expressed as dollars per $1,000.00 of Assessed Value

Example: In 2006, Gwinnett County's millage rate is set at .03227. If your property has a FMV of $500,000, the ASV would be 40% or $200,000. Multiply the ASV of $200,000 by the millage rate of .03227 to determine your property taxes. In this example, property taxes would be $6,454.00
